Hey wisdomous friends, We are on our 16th edition - woof! At 16 weeks, the baby is old enough to start kicking in their mum's tummy. This tribe has grown, too, thank you. Having mentioned babies, let me tell you about one - Me. By the time you receive the next edition, I will be one year older. I don't celebrate my birthday, neither will you see me involved in others. It's not just about religious reasons or philosophical principles; the other main reason is that - I don't know when I was born. Well, I grew up at my aunt's place, and to them, my date of birth was 1st May 1997. So technically, now I am 23 years old. When I was 12 years old, I had a conversation with my mum, who told me that I was born on 6th June 1996. I was confused, as you might expect, so I reached to the few who might be equipped with the insider's knowledge and close to the source - My four brothers. 2 of them weren't sure. One said 1st May and the other said on 6th June 1996. Sherlock Holmes wasn't released then, so that is as far as my investigation skills could go. If you wonder why I didn't go with my mum's version, after all, she is my mother, well, it was the 2nd time that I meet the woman who brought me into this world, and that was our first conversation. I had my trust issues.2nd time, What? Yes, life happens. Fast forward, a few years later - I am switching my birth dates as I please, but things are getting serious - I am about to get my ID Card. I registered myself to have been born on 1st May 1996. Is it tho? Why not 6th June 1996, 1st May 1997 or 6th June 1997? Well, I couldn't care less. It isn't the most important day of my life. Had I been given a choice to be born or not - I'd have gone with not. If you ever wished me a happy birthday, I appreciate the well-intentioned gesture, but how about you send me your favourite quote next time, and we will bond over that, Yeah?Although I can't pinpoint my age, I have lived. Yes, the cliché, In the end, it's not the years in your life that count but the life in your years. At a quarter a century and my QI says that I am 29 years old, Alli at the Cornershop thinks I am 16 years old. I still dress like 40 years old. In short, it complicated. I have lived fast, and if you signed up for this newsletter, you are in for a treat. Until Netflix buys my life story and Shonda Rhimes directs the series starring Boris Kodjoe or Regé-Jean Page in the leading role, we entangle it all here.
