The Wisdomous : Death and your body.
Welcome to The Wisdomous - a friendly email sent to you every week to nourish your mental wealth. You will find micro-lessons from macro thinkers, a good story, awesome reads and some fun suggestions.
Hey Wisdomous friends,
I hope you're safe; the weather has been kind to me here.
"Listen to your body!" says Sabrina, a wonderful friend of mine. Until last week, I had never given any thought to it.
I listened to my body, and it informed me that I needed to rest. So I sought professional help from my GP (general practitioner), who diagnosed me with anxiety.
Is it not surprising! There has been a lot going on in my life recently, including some family concerns, and as powerful as the mind is, the body sometimes needs a break.
I believe that what goes on in our minds finds a way to manifest itself in our bodies.
I wouldn't dare to give medical advice, but take a look at these two articles( one and two).
So, how do you pay attention to your body? Here is what I'm going to concentrate on:
First and foremost, I am slowing down in my life.
I'm keeping a close eye on my breathing and pulse rate.
I'm establishing a mind-body connection.
I need to sleep more and get out of my routine.
Friends and the written word have helped me to clear my mind.
Remember, this isn't a guide; it's simply me sharing how I go about this and learning new things along the way. If you have any tips to offer, please do so, and if you haven't tried listening to your body before, please give it a try.

In other news, I just finished Justin Baldoni's Man Enough, which I highly recommend. It's enlightening, and it's caused me to reflect. Please add it to your reading list!
Nuggets.
You cannot see clearly while the mist of confusion surrounds you; let it settle, then decide your plan of action.
You are confined only by the walls you build yourself.
Stop taking things personally. It's rarely about you.
The need for less often results in a life of more.

Justin Baldoni suggested me to buy more markers, here is why.

Lukaku's determination: When things were going well, I was reading newspapers articles, and they were calling me Romelu Lukaku, the Belgian striker. When things weren’t going well, they called me Romelu Lukaku, the Belgian striker of Congolese descent.
The Importance of positive psychology: Positive psychology, on the other hand, is the scientific study of what makes people thrive. It focuses on behaviours that can lead to a more optimized frame of mind and thought patterns that lead to more functional behaviours.
Tips.
Here are the most common regrets of the dying :
I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
It is essential to try and honour at least some of your dreams along the way. From the moment that you lose your health, it is too late. Health brings a freedom very few realise until they no longer have it.
I wish I hadn’t worked so hard.
By simplifying your lifestyle and making conscious choices along the way, it is possible not to need the income that you think you do. And by creating more space in your life, you become happier and more open to new opportunities, ones more suited to your new lifestyle.
I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.
We cannot control the reactions of others. However, although people may initially react when you change the way you are by speaking honestly, in the end, it raises the relationship to a whole new and healthier level. Either that or it releases the unhealthy relationship from your life. Either way, you win.
I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
It all comes down to love and relationships in the end. That is all that remains in the final weeks, love and relationships.
I wish that I had let myself be happier.
When you are on your deathbed, what others think of you is a long way from your mind. How wonderful to be able to let go and smile again, long before you are dying.
Life is a choice. It is YOUR life. Choose consciously, choose wisely, choose honestly. Choose happiness.
Wisdomous friends, let's not have some of these. Let's not postpone our happiness for the future. Define your happiness and go for it.
“I want to die living. And I want to be remembered as one who lived with purpose, joy and feeling. I want to spend my time learning what goes into a whole and happy life, then building that life the best I can.”
