Sunday Shares #2 : Forge ahead, be spiritual and walk a lot !
As the American naturalist and essayist John Muir once said, “In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks.”
Hello, community! Please enjoy this week's edition of our weekly Sunday shares. My best wishes to you!
An early morning stroll is a boon for the entire day, as the American author Henry David Thoreau memorably put it.
I made an effort to count my blessings in March. Throughout my daily morning walks, I have accumulated 162,094 steps. This amounts to an average of 5,403 steps every day.
Though I fell short of walking the legendary 10,000 steps a day, I did walk more than the 3,000 to 4,000 the NHS reports the average Brit walks in a day.
I joined the FootBolt March Individual Challenge without any fancy equipment to keep track of my progress other than my iPhone and an app called YUMUUV, which helps you set challenges and goals.
I’m addicted; therefore, I’ve set April’s goal at a minimum of 200,000 steps.
Here is a longer read about the benefits of walking

Consequently, it is crucial to keep going even when things get tough, as it is precisely through adversity that we can develop character traits like grit and perseverance.

Are you spiritual or religious? What is the difference?
Despite common misconceptions, spirituality and religion are distinct yet related ideas. Although they share a common theme — the pursuit of fulfilment in one’s existence — they take different methods and perspectives to get there.
Differentiating between spirituality and religion can shed light on how each influences our actions.
What is meditative reading, and how do you do it?
Take your time. Don’t be in a hurry when you’re reading. Permit yourself to savour each little word and phrase.
Take conscious note of your thoughts. While reading, be aware of any feelings or thoughts that arise and allow them to pass.
Focus on the here and now. Put all your attention on the here and now, and try not to let thoughts of the past or the future distract you.
Establish a connection with the content. Make an effort to form a profound connection with the words on the page and comprehend the meanings beneath them.
Be inquisitive. Investigate the material while you probe your thoughts with questions and analyse them at the end.
